Weekly on Mondays Port Elizabeth to Cape Town
Join us on a journey along one of the most beautiful stretches of South Africa’s coastline stretching between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. With pristine beaches, mountains, forests, lakes and rivers, the Garden Route is a place to restore your soul and revitalise your body and mind.
Day 1 - Oudtshoorn
Depart Cape Town and travel along Route 62 to Barrydale for lunch (at own expense). Continue to Oudtshoorn – the ‘feather capital’ of the world and visit a working ostrich farm for a guided tour. Check into your accommodation in the late afternoon before enjoying dinner. (D)
Situated on the main road, on the fringe of Oudtshoorn, this 4 star Victorian guest house is set in a large exotic garden. Hlangana Lodge is within walking distance of many restaurants within Oudtshoorn.
Day 2 - Knysna
Enjoy a morning tour of the Cango Caves – one of the natural wonders of the world. Continue to the lagoon side town of Knysna – the ‘Gem of the Garden’ Route. Enjoy some time at leisure at the Knysna waterfront before proceeding to The Crags near Plettenberg Bay. Embark on an informative cruise up the Keurbooms River before arriving at your lodge where you shall spend the following two nights. Freshen up before dinner at the lodge. (BD)
Just 18km east of the coastal town of Plettenberg Bay along the renowned holiday destination of the Garden Route is Hog Hollow Country Lodge, set on the edge of indigenous forest with breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and Tsitsikamma Mountains.
Day 3 - Garden Route
After breakfast visit Birds of Eden – the largest free-flight bird aviary in the world. Proceed to Bramon Wine Estate for a tasting followed by lunch (at own expense). Optional: Marine Encounter boat trip (weather and time permitting; additional charge) before returning to the lodge for the remainder of the afternoon at leisure before dinner. (BD)
Day 4 - End of Garden Route Tour
This morning after breakfast journey along the final leg of the Garden Route to the beautiful Tsitsikamma National Park. Enjoy a walk along the suspension bridge across the Storms River mouth gorge which offers visitors incredible views and photo opportunities. The tour ends in Port Elizabeth at approximately 18h00 with drop-off at the airport or your Port Elizabeth based hotel. (B)
