Day 1 - South Luangwa National Park
On arrival into Lusaka Airport you will be met and assisted through immigration and customs and through to the domestic terminal for check in onto Proflight for your scheduled flight to Mfuwe Airport, just outside South Luangwa National Park. The flight is one hour 10 minutes, and on arrival at Mfuwe Airport you will be met by a representative from Norman Carr Safaris, and will be transferred by road to your first Bushcamp. Transfer time will be between 2 – 3 hours, depending on which bushcamp you start your itinerary at, and game seen en route. (D)
Bordering the Luangwa River, the northern and southern Luangwa National Parks contain some of the most breathtaking and untouched wilderness in Africa. As a result of this and the parks’ successful anti-poaching campaigns, the area has developed into a world-renowned wildlife haven. The South Luangwa National Park is renowned for its walking safari, which allows visitors to view elephant, hippo and even lion close-up under the supervision of professional and knowledgeable armed guides.
Below is an outline of the bushcamps where you will possibly stay in South Luangwa. Order and number of nights may vary and will be communicated to you 2 weeks prior to travel.
Day 2 to Day 4 - South Luangwa National Park
Your days will be spent exploring this area of the park predominantly on foot. All guided walks are accompanied by an armed National Parks Scout. During the day between activities you will have the chance to relax in camp and watch any birds or animals in the camp vicinity. (BLD)
Day 5 - End of Norman Carr Walking Safari
Today you will depart the South Luangwa National Park and fly to Lusaka Airport for your outgoing international flight and onward travels. (B)
