A journey with lots of contrast from the game enriched plains of the famous Serengeti to the salt pans of Lake Manyara. A further high point of your journey is the Ngorongoro Crater and Ol’Duvai Gorge, both unique sites and a must for any visitor to Tanzania. With a choice of Classic or Superior accommodation, this safari is a perfect add-on to one of our Kenyan safaris.
Day 1 - Arusha
On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Arusha (approximately 55 KM / 1 hour).
Situated at the foothills of Mount Meru in the city of Arusha, Tanzania, the Mount Meru Hotel lies on 9 acres of lush landscape, surrounded by some of Africa’s most breath-taking vistas, rich with a diverse array of wildlife, etched against the fertile slopes of this beautiful mountain. Give your imagination wings as you sit at the mountain’s feet, and listen as it reveals stories it has kept hidden for centuries.

Day 2 - Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Spend the morning at leisure. After lunch meet your driver/guide for a briefing and drive in 4X4 safari vehicle into Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Dinner and overnight at your lodge (approximately 175 KM / 2 hours). (BLD)
Ngorongoro Farm House is a small and exclusive lodge facing the Oldeani Volcano, only 5 kilometres from the Ngorongoro Lolduare Gate. The lodge was built to offer clients an original experience reminiscent of the atmosphere of the old days. The 52 spacious cottages are built on the style of an old colonial farm and rustically decorated with local materials and full of details of good taste, with the purpose of offering our clients an imaginary journey to the life of the days gone. Ngorongoro Farm House is a perfect stopover within any safari in the northern circuit of Tanzania and a privileged place to visit the Crater or enjoy a bunch of additional activities.
Day 3 - Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Get the adventure started with a drive down the steep valley (about 600m) to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is known for its unusual sights including the rare black rhinos. After travelling through the crater, return to the lodge for lunch and a leisurely afternoon, optional activities are available from the lodge. Enjoy an African sunset, dinner and overnight at the lodge. (BLD)
Day 4 - Serengeti National Park
After breakfast you will travel to the Serengeti National Park, with a stop enroute at Ol’Duvai Gorge. Here in the ‘cradle of mankind’ the skull of a human being was found which is believed to be the oldest ever discovered. Dinner and overnight at your lodge (approximately 200 KM / 3.5 hours). (BLD)
Located on the edge of the escarpment overlooking the plains of the south-western Serengeti National Park, home to many thousands of wild and rare animals, Serengeti Sopa Lodge lies within an area of outstanding natural beauty. An oasis of cool relaxation from the equatorial sun. The lodge allows its guests to experience magnificent sights and enjoy interaction with the land and animals difficult to find elsewhere, whilst at the same time enjoying the highest level of cuisine and hospitality. The Lodge has 69 standard rooms, all with two queen size beds, carpeted, and tastefully furnished with local fabrics and pictures.
Day 5 - Serengeti National Park
Enjoy a full day of quality African safari time in the Serengeti National Park. Home to a vast array of Tanzania’s wildlife, there will be plenty of opportunities to see the ‘Big Five’, but to increase your chances a picnic lunch is provided so you won’t have to look away for a second! Dinner and overnight at your lodge. (BLD)
Day 6 - Lake Manyara National Park
This morning travel through the Serengeti National Park one final time on a morning game drive. Journey on to Lake Manyara where you enjoy dinner and overnight at your lodge (approximately 225 KM / 4 hours). (BLD)
Kirurumu Manyara Lodge is located on the edge of Lake Manyara National Park about a 30 minute drive from Manyara Airstrip and about 2 hours from Arusha. In total there are 27 tented rooms, two honeymoon suites and two family cottages all of which are tented and raised slightly off the ground with a wooden decking, of which each has an amazing view of the Great Rift Valley of Lake Manyara National Park.
Day 7 - End of Tanzania Highlights Tour
Enjoy a morning game drive in the Lake Manyara National Park, the home of the so-called ‘Tree Lions’, before driving back to Arusha. After lunch you will be transferred back to either Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward journey (approximately 245 KM / 3 hours). (BL)
