Overlooking the legendary Chief’s Island and bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. This small and intimate camp consists of 6 fully furnished, deluxe meru tents with en-suite bathroom featuring standalone baths and outdoor private showers. Set on raised platforms overlooking the Delta plains, Gunn’s Camp is ideal for honeymooners or guests looking for a more intimate and personalized safari experience. Each tent has been traditionally furnished and offers a lounge area as well as private veranda.
The accommodation area is connected to the main camp via raised wooden walkway across the wetlands and magically lit by a series of fairy like lanterns. Guests have access to the elevated bar, lounge and dining room, camp fire boma and swimming pool. Activities here focus on the water and walking experience of the Okavango: mokoro excursions, motorboat cruises, fishing and guided game walks. There are just nine large tents each with en-suite showers which are open to the stars for a true bush experience. The dining area, lounge and bar are situated under shady mangosteen trees and overlooks a scenic lagoon. As there is no electricity in the camp a wonderfully warm atmosphere is created by paraffin lamps. Activities are 60% land and 40% water – but dependant on water levels. Guests can choose from game drives, nature walks and mokoro excursions. Night drives in open 4X4 land rovers are also an attraction. Birding enthusiasts can enjoy Pels Fishing Owl, African Fish Eagle, Giant Eagle Owl, White Backed Vultures and a variety of other Okavango species.
