Explore the untouched natural beauty and wildlife on this Botswana overland tour. Starting with the natural wonder of Victoria Falls and an unforgettable sunset at Makgadikgadi pans. Enjoy ‘Big Five’ game viewing in open 4x4 vehicles in Moremi Game Reserve before boating, walking and mokoros in the pristine Okavango Delta. End your tour with game viewing along the Chobe river.

Day 1 - Victoria Falls
The tour starts at 15h00 on Day 1 with a pre departure meeting in the foyer of Cresta Sprayview Hotel. Time is free to view Victoria Falls – without doubt one of the greatest and most spectacular sights in Africa. Time is spent at leisure to browse the local markets and to experience the many optional activities on offer in the adrenalin capital of Africa including helicopter flights over the Falls and to visit the Falls (at own expense).
Please note: A Local Payment is required on departure of the tour and paid directly to your guide in cash. Amount required is US$200 per person. This tour will use a 16 seater Mercedes Sprinter vehicle (or similar) and all activities/game drives will be in an open 4X4 vehicle from the lodges.
Cresta Sprayview Hotel is situated just 1.4 km from the Victoria Falls Rain Forest entrance. It is the perfect gateway for adventure seekers exploring the resort town of Victoria Falls and its surrounds. In months when the Falls are in full flood, the spray from this majestic wonder of nature rises like a column of smoke, locally referred to as “Mosi-oa-Tunya”, the “Smoke that Thunders” and can be seen from the Hotel, hence the name “Sprayview” from which the Hotel derives its name.
Set on eight acres of manicured grounds, Accommodation offers a tranquil oasis from which to enjoy all Victoria Falls has to offer. Alfresco dining and the large swimming pool make Accommodation a relaxing retreat for families, international travellers and honeymooners. Accommodation has recently been refurbished and opened to guests in the month of August 2013. All the modern amenities such as satellite television, room service, conference facilities, a business centre and Wi-Fi in all rooms and public areas are available.
Day 2 - Victoria Falls
You have the day at leisure to explore the Falls or town or take part in an adrenalin filled activity (own expense). (B)
Day 3 - Makgadikgadi Pans
Departing after breakfast, you will travel through Botswana to the Nata area. In the late afternoon you will visit the Makgadikgadi Pans for a truly unforgettable sunset over what remains of an ancient 6500km2 lake. (BD)
An oasis set among the Mokolwane palms on the edge of the pans. It is ideally situated close to the entrance to the Nata Sanctuary and is just off the main road, 10 km from Nata village. This is the junction to the Okavango, Chobe and Francistown areas. 22 luxury chalets, 10 luxury custom-designed en-suite Meru style tents and camping.
Day 4 to Day 5 - Moremi Game Reserve
Today you will embark on a 3 hour drive to Maun, the gateway to the Okavango delta and Moremi game reserve. Change from your overland vehicle into open 4X4 vehicles and proceed to your accommodation situated at the edge of Moremi Game Reserve. Moremi is lush and varied, shallow flooded pans, plains and forests. It is one of Africa’s finest areas for wildlife, with particularly high game densities including all major naturally occurring herbivore and carnivore species in the region and over 400 species of birds. Days are spent enjoying morning and afternoon game drives in the private concession and inside Moremi. (BD) & (BLD)
Nestled in-between a Leadwood forest, overlooking the Khwai River and beyond which joins the Moremi game reserve, sits the beautiful Mogotlho Lodge. The lodge boasts a majestic thatch roofed dining and lounge area which leads out onto an elevated viewing deck over the riverbank. Spectacular sunsets can be admired over sundowners from the quaint bar or from the deck of your comfort en-suite tent.
Once here, you are close to the heartbeat of Africa, you can sense the big game heritage from the moment you arrive. Long drinks on the wooden patio overlooking the Khwai River, makes Mogotlho one of the most popular game lodges in Botswana today. The exceptional location of Khwai makes it a regular host to elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dogs. This the perfect location for observing the perennial drama of the African Bushveld.
Day 6 - Maun
This morning disembark on a 2 hour transfer back to Maun. The afternoon is free for an optional 1 hour scenic flight over the vast Okavango Delta (at own expense). (BD)
Known as the gateway to the much-visited Okavango Delta in Botswana, Maun is also a popular launching point for the numerous other wildlife activities on offer in this awe-inspiring corner of Africa. Visitors from all over the world arrive in this small town in their droves to partake in safaris to some of the most incredible game reserves, scenic flights over the Delta, 4X4 trails and more.
Cresta Maun, the new 83-bedroomed establishment is situated 10km away from the town’s centre. One of the very best Maun hotels, it offers facilities for both the leisure and business traveller, with two state-of-the-art conference facilities for up to 300 people. Cresta Maun is situated on the banks of the Thamalakane River which is at the southern end of the Okavango Delta. Home to several bird species, Cresta Maun offers a tranquil setting from which visitors can explore the wonders of Botswana.
Day 7 to Day 8 - Okavango Delta
Driving round the pan handle you will traverse to the north west of the Okavango Delta. Arrive at Swamp Stop where you will leave your vehicle and enjoy a 2 – 3 hour scenic boat trip to your accommodation in the heart of the Okavango Delta. The following day is spent exploring the delta on boat rides, mokoro’s and guided game walks on the small islands of the Delta. (BD) & (BLD)

Day 9 - Caprivi
Departing the Delta by boat you return to your vehicle and cross into Namibia. Continue to the Eastern side of the Caprivi Strip and arrive at your lodge overlooking the flood plains of the Kwando River. A lush area teeming with wildlife and birdlife. (BD)
Nestled on the banks of the Kwando River in the Eastern Caprivi, Camp Kwando invites you to come and explore the beautiful treasures of an untamed land. We offer various accommodation types such as Island Tents, Camp Sites and Tree Houses.
The island boasts 12 thatched tents, each one with two beds. All beds have mosquito nets. Built on poles with a deck overlooking the river, these bungalows will allow you to do some fishing from the deck. The thatched roofs guarantee good thermal regulation, not too hot in the summer and not too cold in the winter. Every tent has an outside shower with a canvas roof over, en-suite bathroom with shower to enjoy the surrounding nature. Electricity is provided at key times by a generator and the bathrooms are lit by way of paraffin lights.
Day 10 to Day 11 - Kasane - Chobe River
Crossing back into Botswana you overnight on the banks of the Chobe River. Chobe is famous for its beautiful scenery, magnificent sunsets and abundance of wildlife and birdlife. The afternoon of arrival is free for an option game drive. Day 11 you relax on a morning game drive and a sunset game-viewing cruise on the Chobe River. (BD)
Chobe Safari Lodge is situated in Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River and shares a border with Chobe National Park. Right on your doorstep is the meeting point of four African countries: Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Day 12 - End of Delta & Wildlife Adventure
