In Kiswahili ‘Elewana’ means ‘Harmony’, and this breathtaking air safari combines the game-rich wilderness of Northern Tanzania with a luxurious aircraft, and stylish accommodation. This journey, in an executive-styled Cessna Grand Caravan, takes you to some of Tanzania’s best National Parks. You have the opportunity to see amazing sights as you fly low over the extensive savannah observing the wildlife below followed by exceptional game viewing in the Serengeti, and the spectacular scenery of the world renowned Ngorongoro Crater.
Day 1 - Arusha
On arrival into Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be welcomed and transferred to Arusha. (D)
Arusha Coffee Lodge was inspired by the grace and romance of a fine ‘old-time’ coffee plantation where guests could anticipate an accommodation of the highest standard. There are 21 private chalets featuring multi-level areas, huge balconies and beautiful fireplaces, all with en-suite bathroom facilities. In addition, each chalet features a mini-bar, tea and coffee making facilities, ceilings fans, safes and hairdryers; each chalet also has its own coffee grinder and percolator in the spirit of a true coffee estate experience. Other services at the lodge include phone and fax, Internet access and room service.
Day 2 - Tarangire National Park
After breakfast enjoy a tour of the Coffee Estate, followed by lunch in the garden. This afternoon you will transfer to Arusha Airport and join your Executive Cessna Grand Caravan and fly to Kuro Airstrip in Tarangire National Park. On arrival at the airstrip, the Tarangire Treetops team will meet you for an afternoon game drive in Tarangire National Park after which you will enter through Treetops’ private reserve. (BLD)
Tarangire Treetops is located within the 57,000 acre Tarangire Conservation Area straddling the wet-season migration route into the adjacent Tarangire National Park. Home to a unique eco-system, the area has all the same species of wildlife as the Tarangire National Park, including buffalo, lion, cheetah, leopard and elephant. Huge herds of elephant frequent the site of the camp on their way to watering in the Sand River, ensuring year-round resident game. Tarangire Treetops features 20 luxury en-suite rooms, built a top tree-attached platforms, overlooking the Tarangire Sand River. The camp has been superbly blended into the environment with the sleeping platforms built into a variety of baobab, mopani and wild fig trees. Each en-suite unit has a private veranda and lounge area, with sweeping views over the private Conservation area.
Day 3 - Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, enjoy a full day of activities including, game drives, a game-walk and sundowners followed by a night game drive. (BLD)
Day 4 - Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast you will enjoy a morning game drive through Tarangire National Park. Stop at leisure for a picnic lunch on your way to Kuro Airstrip and connect to Manyara Airstrip. On arrival, the team from The Manor at Ngorongoro will meet you and transfer you to The Manor. Arrive at The Manor in time for high-tea. (BLD)
The Manor at Ngorongoro, located in the north-west of Tanzania and with its 20 luxury rooms and magnificent main Manor House, is one of the first safari lodges of its kind to blend East African hospitality with old-world Afro-European architecture and de-cor. Located adjacent to the famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area and within a 1,500 acre Arabica coffee estate, The Manor is reminiscent of an elegant up-country farm home in the Cape Dutch-style of architecture.
Day 5 - Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, an Elewana vehicle will drive you down the crater for full day of exploration of the Ngorongoro Crater. A picnic hamper lunch will be served on the crater floor. After lunch, you will explore more of the crater before heading back to The Manor for the evening cocktails, dinner and overnight. (BLD)
Day 6 - Serengeti National Park
Today, you have the option of visiting the Lake Manyara National Park or staying at the lodge to explore the estate. Choose from a host of activities including horseback riding, cycling, an estate tour or a massage treatment (1 treatment per person) or, you may opt to just relax. After lunch you will be driven to the Manyara Airstrip for your onward flight to the Serengeti. On arrival you will be met by the Serengeti Migration Camp team. The afternoon will be spent on a game drive with arrival at Serengeti Migration Camp in time for sundowners. (BLD)
Serengeti Migration Camp is the embodiment of the ‘camp’ experience. Located next to the famous Grumeti River which is home to resident hippos that bark and wallow their days away, Serengeti Migration Camp has become synonymous with low-impact high-action game viewing in a landscape that is untouched since the dawn of time. Hidden among the rocky outcrops Serengeti Migration Camp is located at the starting point of the Migration. Comprising of 20 luxurious elevated tents, each with spacious and richly furnished bedrooms, Serengeti Migration Camp blends seamlessly into the environment. Each of the tents is surrounded by its own 360-degree veranda deck, which in turn creates your very own private sanctuary to enjoy the constant game sightings and the ever-present sounds of the bush.
Day 7 - Serengeti National Park
Spend a full day exploring the vast Serengeti plains with a bush lunch. Return to camp in time for sundowners and dinner. (BLD)
Day 8 - End of SkySafari by Elewana
Take a guided walk and after lunch a final game drive enroute to the airstrip for your flight to Arusha. On arrival transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight. (B)
