Established as a coffee farm in the late 1920s, Gibb’s Farm overlooks the Great Rift Valley and Ngorongoro Forest. Inside, the farmhouse’s original wooden beams are on display, and outside, the organic vegetable and terraced flower gardens provide a wonderful sanctuary for afternoon tea or a quiet walk. The historic living room and dining areas, along with 17 beautifully decorated guest cottages provide an elegant, comfortable home away from home. Gibb’s Farm is a welcome retreat for a few days respite while on safari.

    Day 1 - Ngorongoro Crater

    This morning you will be met by your driver/guide for a briefing and drive in 4X4 safari vehicles into Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Conservation area. Dinner and overnight at your lodge. (LD)

    Accommodation: 2 nights Gibbs Farm

    Gibb’s Farm’s rustic charm and gracious accommodations provide an ideal sanctuary for a few day’s respite while on safari or for an extended vacation or honeymoon getaway. The 1929 farmhouse and five cottages comprised the original guesthouse in 1972. Today, 17 guest cottages—each featuring a unique theme and richly appointed with eucalyptus floors, hand-crafted furniture, two queen-size beds, indoor and outdoor showers, a fireplace and private verandah—provide an elegant home away from home, with all of the cozy comforts. A cottage with a common living area and two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms is available for families or couples traveling together.

    Day 2 - Ngorongoro Crater

    Today you will drive into the Ngorongoro Crater descending over 600m to the floor. The crater covers over 250 sq kms of land and is the home to the rare black rhino, lion, elephant, cheetah and great herds of buffalo, antelope and wildebeest. Explore the forest areas, the lake area, where you may see flamingos, and the open savannah. A picnic lunch will be taken, before driving back late afternoon to the lodge for dinner. (BLD)

    Day 3 - End of Gibbs Farm Stay

    This morning after breakfast you will return to Arusha for lunch before being dropped for your onward arrangements. (BL)
