Mpala Jena Camp is an exquisite tented camp, located in a private concession within Zambezi National Park overlooking a beautiful stretch of the Zambezi River and in the shade of indigenous trees. The property is conveniently located 16 kilometres inside the Zambezi National Park offering easy access to the town itself and all the adrenaline activities that Victoria Falls is so well-known for, but then also a distance from the hustle and bustle, allowing guests to remain immersed in a safari-atmosphere and relax in the incredible setting and wild habitat of the Park. A very intimate camp with only four guest tents all with views of the river and Moroccan influences throughout the decor.
Whilst your 2 night stay at Mpala Jean Camp you will have the opportunity to enjoy the Zambezi National Park which has a healthy population of wildlife including buffalo, elephant and lion and offers excellent bird-watching, particularly between November and April.
You will be pleased to know that Mpala Jena Camp is one of the most environmentally innovative camps in the Zambezi National Park; achieved through the use of recycled hardwoods and canvas and ensuring all the camp’s electricity needs come from solar power.
Day 1 - Zambezi National Park
On arrival in Victoria falls you will be collected and transferred to Mpala Jena. The transfer will normally be by road and boat to the camp but this is dependent of the water levels of the river, when too low the full transfer will be by road. Either way it takes approximately 45 minutes. (D)
Please note that from Mid January 2020 – The camp offers a special transfer for guests which is a one way helicopter transfer to / from the camp. If flight arrival time, and your choice, is to transfer into the camp via helicopter then you will be collected from the airport and transferred to the Elephant Hills Hotel helipad and then transfer to Mpala Jena. There is a ‘no flying time’ between 12pm and 2pm each day.
An exquisite tented camp, located in a private concession within Zambezi National Park overlooking a beautiful stretch of Zambezi River and in the shade of indigenous trees.
The camp is named for the spring-line that runs through the concession and attracts an abundance of wildlife. Mpala Jena means “white impala” named, according to local National Park rangers, after an albino impala seen in the area in 1979 when the Zambezi National Park was created and separated from Victoria Falls National Park. Today Zambezi National Park has a healthy population of wildlife including buffalo, elephant and lion and offers excellent bird-watching, particularly between November and April.
